  • Practical skills assessment must be successfully completed by every candidate, and are tailored by role. Our rigorous practical assessments are led by industry professionals who look for the inherent personal attributes that we strive for in our team - grooming, charisma and professionalism.

  • Two references required
  • Right to Work Verification using Home Office best practice passport scanners
  • Training requirements. We ensure all our staff have taken all courses required to adhere to CIEH accredited training standards, in line with EU allergen regulation.

Front of House:

  • Fine dining
  • Wine waiting
  • Principles of customer relationship management and conflict resolution
  • Detailed insight into the running of events and the variety of sectors and environments in which they’ll work

Chefs:

  • Practical skills assessment including French vegetable cuts and three hot elements
  • Cleanliness, speed, efficiency, as well as teamwork and communication within the kitchen
  • Analysis of which kitchens and clients they are best suited to support
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including allergens

Kitchen & Event Porters:

  • Hazard perception to identify potential dangers within a live kitchen
  • Safe handling of knives and broken glass
  • Identification and cleaning of commercial kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Kitchen hierarchy, expectations and communication within a professional kitchen
