Porters

Kitchen Porters & Event Porters

You are the engine of the events industry.

Does the idea of working in some of the UK’s grandest and most glamorous events/venues sound exciting to you? We are recruiting porters with the energy, passion and stamina to thrive at the centre of every event.

Kitchen porters help to keep the kitchen running smoothly by making sure appliances, equipment and facilities are clean, tidy, safe and hygienic so chefs can keep cooking. You may also be asked to help chefs with food preparation and assist with the smooth running of events.

Event Porters work behind the scenes to set up equipment and furniture in preparation for events. If you’re over age 25 and up for a bit of heavy lifting, have a clean driving license and professional experience driving vans, we want to hear from you!

Why become a porter?

  • Work as a team. You’ll be working in a fast-paced team-driven environment with long hours available.
  • Progress. Many chefs begin their careers as kitchen porters. If you have a passion for cooking but lack the professional experience, learn the ropes as a kitchen porter with Off to Work. You can also grow into a Head Porter role.
  • Play a vital part. We rely on your positive attitude and hard work to keep a kitchen running seamlessly.

Your future starts here. Get in the centre of the action.

Why our staff love working with us

I want to thank you for all the opportunities you gave me. I am leaving England for work and a Masters degree abroad. You have been very kind with me and I will never forget that! Off to Work is a great company and it is managed by great people as you guys. Thank you and best wishes to your team!

Simone, former Kitchen Porter and Event Porter

I joined OTW in May 2014 as a kitchen porter. I fell in love with it and had a good time working at different 5 star venues across London. Moved on to help the FOH team in September 2014 as a waiter and barista. Enjoyed the flexibility of having experience in both fields. In May 2015, I got a call from the office team to travel to Azerbaijan as a BOH manager for the European Olympic Games. I accepted and spent 2 months managing over 68 Kitchen Porters. I was then called to help with BOH recruitment and operations. Looking forward to helping the company as much as I can.
