Group: Front of House Services - London
Office: London Office
Job title: Operations Manager – Events

My life in hospitality began at the tender age of 12. I started at my aunt’s hotel in Brockenhurst, where I spent my holidays helping out. I watched as she took a run-down B&B and transformed it into a 16-room hotel with a very highly-rated restaurant. From around 15 years old, I worked as a kitchen porter, and then moved into bartending at 18.

Having started university in London, I found myself moving away from my studies and involved myself in hospitality full-time.

My professional career began at Joe Allen restaurant, where I was lucky enough to learn the art of Mixology from the bar-manager, who had worked there since 1977. After a while, I progressed to bar-manager, where I loved to develop new cocktail menus and serve countless celebrities.

Eventually, I moved on to Soho House, where I gained experience on the floor and in events, whilst again, enjoying the thrill of being surrounded by fame. With a newfound passion for events and live music, I opened the Curtain Hotel in Shoreditch as club manager. In this role, I hosted parties for high profile artists and DJs, such as Skepta. I then went on to manage and open numerous restaurants, including Blues Kitchen and Parillan, before moving to Event Floor Manager at the NED.

Now an Operations Manager at Off to Work, I provide top level hospitality professionals to many hotels, event caterers and private members clubs across London.
