Developed and run by Off to Work’s Head of Security, Jason Henderson.  This 2 hour seminar is designed to get teams thinking in a practical manner about security and how it can affect their daily lives and as such have a direct effect on the security of a business.  The seminar purposefully includes a variety of different subject matters that makes it incredibly unique and nothing like other training you may find in the market.  As well as including vital and key information surrounding the ACT Awareness training, there is major input on De-escalation, Customer Service, Being aware of Security and good practice, communication and much more.  By having a classrom style training session, the information is much more likely to stick in the mind and be at the forefront of employee’s thoughts when incidents occur.

Jason, our Head of Security, holds a wealth of experience in a variety of fields and has many anecdotal stories to tell throughout the course. This course also includes real life stories from Jason’s unique career and real statistics Jason has picked up that no other company will be able to offer.

Although there are small elements of the ACT Awareness Package included in this training the full ACT Awareness Package is 6 hours long.  This facilitator led training narrows some of the key information down into just over an hour of bite size information that can then be further followed up with the ACT Awareness Package.

Most importantly Jason does not ONLY come from a security background, he has a wealth of experience in Hospitality and knows what it takes to keep yours guests happy and that security can not be a barrier to this.

  • De-escalation techniques and conflict management.Non-physical ways of dealing with conflict and how to effectively understand and calm angry/ drunk guests. This section will lead onto the pros and cons of hiring customer service hosts over ‘bouncers’.
  • How to give detailed and effective security briefings. An in-depth look at giving effective Security Briefings, not only to the security team but also the wider events team.
  • Terrorism Awareness. A look at what terrorism is, is your event a target and what can be done to mitigate risk.  Suspect Packages and how to identify these.
  • The Law surrounding security and security Personnel. What is the SIA?  Why do your teams need to have SIA badges?  What else do you and your teams need to be aware of?
