Our client, an exciting, fast growing and independent catering company with a fresh, completely tailored and outstanding bespoke catering and hospitality.

  • £32,000 based on a 40h contract

We're looking for a strong Sous Chef or Head Chef to lead the staff dining team of a big business building, producing fresh, vibrant food. You're a passionate chef who has good knowledge of multi-cultural cuisine, is up to date with current food trends, has a thing for street food and is an inspirational, organised leader?

As the Head Chef, you will be in charge of your team of about 15, plan diverse and exciting menus with vegetarian and allergen options- and of course keep an eye on the budget. We are looking for a strong team leader who can handle numbers of about 1000 covers.

The role:

  • Your role as the head chef will be very much "hands on" and responsible for all day to day duties in the kitchen
  • Head Chef of a busy modern style operation with in excess of 1200 persons on site.
  • To proactively forward thinking, be an ambitious and innovative Head Chef who will perform consistently to the highest standards
  • To be strong relationship builder with people of all levels and be the face of the business working with senior management and clients
  • To assess employee performance and recognise training needs and potential as appropriate

The ideal candidate:

  • The successful Head Chef would come from a high-end background with a premium contract caterer.
  • Have previous experience running and managing a kitchen
  • Experience within busy high volume and pressurised operations
  • Excellent craft skills and knowledge all current food trends, innovative and creative
  • A real foodie with a passion for seasonality, sustainability and a keen eye for food trends is a must.
  • Proven Financial and Commercial acumen
  • A leader who will train, nurture and develop future talent with in the business.

This Head Chef position is paid an annual salary of £32,000 based on a 40h contract. As usual in contract catering uniform is provided and laundered, as well as meals on duty and weekends off.
