Events Supervisor - Camden

Sliced Events in Camden have an exciting opportunity for an Events Supervisor!The Events Supervisor will be responsible for supervising all front of house catering activities and the day to day operation of the venue. You will be proficient at running small to medium events, completing standard room setups, cash handling, following procedures, as well as numerous other delegated tasks like ordering of stock, linen control, cleanliness and the H&S of the Venue and all its internal and external delegates. In carrying out this role the Events Supervisor will be expected to portray a positive image of Sliced Events at the London Irish Centre and exude a high level of professionalism at all times.

Whether you're coordinating a conference or live event for up to 400 people, or planning a wedding or private party, Sliced Events should always be your first point of call. Event specialists with everything you need under one roof. Sliced Events became the official venue and event partners for the London Irish Centre in 2009. Since then they have worked hard in developing a fantastic range of facilities and events at the centre.

The London Irish Centre is a beautiful and historic venue nestled on a tranquil, leafy corner of Camden Square, and has been a focus for the Irish community in London since 1954.

TheEvents Supervisor position will play a significant part in dealing with client enquiries during events as well as pre and post events, therefore excellent communication skills including fluency in spoken English and exceptional written English are a must!


TheEvents Supervisor will directly report to the Sliced Events Management Team but will also work on requests from a range of management levels and partners throughout the company.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that the LIC complies with all statutory legislation, both national and local, in order to confirm our status as a conference and banqueting venue and the licensing regulations as may be amended from time to time. Upon any change to licenses you will fulfil any responsibilities associated with them.
  • Ensure rooms are set-up, cleaned and prepared ready for events in accordance with the event function sheet and Operations bible.
  • Full compliance of the LIC Operations Bible setting out the operational standards for all food & beverage delivery and event floor management.
  • Ensure that all casual staff are trained and adhere to the induction and the Operations Bible.
  • Drawing up rotas for staff and the signing off of hours worked.
  • Ensure a safe environment for delegates, clients and staff alike at all times.
  • Ensure all casual staff and contractors are aware of fire and evacuation procedures.
  • Implement and maintain suitable written and practical procedures to ensure full compliance with Health and Safety policies, procedures and legislation.
  • Ensure that the conference and banqueting facilities are left fit for purpose for use by all users after every event.
  • Ensure that all fixtures, fittings and equipment belonging to the LIC and OTW are kept in good repair and maintained to a high standard.
  • Ensure the security of the London Irish Centre venue, staff and guests in all designated areas during opening hours.
  • Proactively engage with all external bodies from the resident's association, the emergency authorities through to suppliers to ensure that the London Irish Centre is a valued part of the local community and is held in high esteem by all key partners.
  • Responsible for directly or successfully delegating the organising, set-up, running and clearing up of all events.

Bars Responsibilities

  • Establish system for regular ordering and controlled delivery of all stock (except those items that fall under the kitchen / Head Chef control).
  • Ensure that the bar at LIC is opened and closed every day in accordance with the licensed operating hours, or shorter taking into account commercial requirements, and ensure compliance with all legal requirements of operating premises.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels and rotation keeping wastage to an absolute minimum
  • Ensure stock takes occur monthly and provide the stock-taker with all records of usage, wastage, spillage and Entertainment Riders each month.
  • Investigate any losses on a monthly stock report and implement strict internal controls in order to minimise and account for any deficit.
  • Implement an effective regime for the regular cleaning and maintenance of all bar and cellar equipment plus all front of house areas.
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained and in working order
  • Regular line cleaning of beer lines as well as the bulk brew coffee machine.
  • Ensure that all staff complies with current Health and Safety legislation.

Salary: £23,000 Per Annum
Hours: 5 days out of 7 - 40 Hours Per Week (There will be a requirement to work longer hours on occasion.)
