If you weren’t at Off to Work’s Kitchen Launch last night, why not?!
After nearly 9 months of careful planning, preparation and design, we were very happy to finally launch our wonderful Test & Development Kitchen! We welcomed clients and industry partners from Amadeus, The ICC, Silverstone, Aston Villa, Hilton Metropole, Alrewas Hays, Millennium Point, ETC Venues, ACCA and many more to join us for an evening of carefully crafted canape’s and cocktails, and boy did they all enjoy it.
With state of the art equipment and branded artwork by Dan Griffin-Hayes, this facility is the first of its kind in Birmingham and will allow us to really sort the cream of the crop when deciding which chefs we want to join our select team. We can now assess them practically by asking them to produce a variety of basic dishes, and catch them off guard to see how creative they can be when presented with a ‘mystery box’ of ingredients (I’m hoping that the results will be brought up to the second floor for us all to taste test!)
Chefs Andrew, Tim and Sunny spent all day yesterday beavering away in the kitchen under the watchful eye of John Burton, Paul Clark and Amy Savage, our brilliant back of house team.
The canapes were a big hit, especially the wild mushroom and parmesan arancini topped with squash chutney and deep fried sage – delicious, served up by our fantastic waiting team! The wonderful Martins & Richard mixed up some Spiced Pear and Raspberry Bellinis and a Ginger and Winter Fruit Spritz which perfectly complimented the warming, seasonal menu.
It was a fantastic feeling for us all to be able to showcase the kitchen, and our team, to some of our most valued and loyal clients and there is no doubt that they were all suitably impressed!
A huge, huge thanks to the Back of House team, The Marketing Crew, and of course, our very own Katie Pearce for making this happen.
