I have never worked The Open before and this was my first job in hospitality. I was excited about the opportunity as I have been surrounded by golf my entire life and enjoy the thrill of working similar fast-paced events.
I have been golfing since I was a young child and have been to The Open as a patron with my father, so I wanted a new viewpoint on it. This is my first hospitality job and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
This was my first time working at The Open! I was drawn to it because of my first waitressing job at a golf club in Ireland. I really enjoyed working there and have always known about The Open so I was excited to get involved in it.
I enjoyed the last time I worked at The Open in Scotland back in 2015 at St Andrews, so I wanted the opportunity to return. As I enjoy golf I couldn't turn down the chance to work at such an iconic event.
I worked at The Open for the first time last year in Royal Birkdale and it was an amazing experience. The team was great, and I didn’t hesitate to do it again when I was offered the chance this year.
I wanted to get involved in The Open because I had such an incredible time last year! It was something I had never experienced before and I'm so glad I was able to be a part of it again in 2018.
Rosina has partnered with us in recruiting from Chef Manager to Senior Ops for 10+ years. She 'gets' our business, investing a huge amount of time sourcing for ‘fit’ rather than textbook skill set. We are a unique business that has grown organically & good people are key to this.
Thank you for securing my dream job. Coming from a hotel/restaurant background, I didn’t know my skills were transferable – you opened my eyes to contract catering! Can't thank you enough. Your hand-holding was (still is!) appreciated.
Only my first week with Off to Work and I'm really enjoying it. Thought the skills and assessment day would have been a drag if I'm honest, but Lelde made it a blast! She was so lovely and fun, and explained things really well so learned a few things for the future too :-) Many thanks from Charlene in Belfast
‘Dear Katie, Violeta, Inesa, Maciej + all your crew - special thanks to all who supported this amazing and challenging event over the past days. The feedback from our top management is that this was the best local crew for 5 years, so please pass on our thanks also to all of your great team members, who did an amazing job on match day and supported our crew in the best way!
All the long hours and hard work paid off for our team, who were able to experience one of the world’s largest sports tournaments from within, preview the opening ceremony and meet with some of the VIP visitors including one of our team leaders, Peter Miller, who met both Sir Chris Hoy & HRH Prince William.
