Job title: Staffing and Recruitment Assistant

I began my hospitality journey whilst at school, volunteering at the Ayr Hospital cafe. From there, I moved to Edinburgh originally for college, but found success through my work career, eventually working at Cafe at the Palace, based out of Holyrood Palace. It was here in 2018 that I discovered my passion for the training and development of teams and people.

Through Cafe at the Palace, I worked in both the Holyrood Royal week and the garden parties at both Holyrood and Buckingham Palaces. I also completed a Women in Leadership course, meeting people from several industries ranging from record labels to marketing.

While there, we actually enlisted the help of the Off To Work team and would speak with the team on a very regular basis. When the opportunity came about to further my career and join the Off To Work team, it felt like a natural fit. Having experienced the team from a client perspective, I know how passionate and supportive the team are in helping  both clients and their own staff. Now being on the other side of the table I cannot wait to explore the opportunities of working with a vast range of people and at many exciting venues.

A random fun fact is that I can actually create and sew together clothing, including corsets and petticoats. Though I did learn this years ago at college it came in handy fixing staff uniforms. I now have a needle and thread handy on me just in case
