The Event Awards turned on the glamour and glitz for a roaring 1920s inspired evening of vintage swing dancing, champagne sipping and celebration at Troxy earlier this month, as finalists and guests assembled to hear who had scooped each of the coveted 2014 awards. They celebrate the best in experiential, creative and supplier sectors of the live events industry.
In fabulous form, Off to Work is delighted to have been ‘Highly Commended’ in the award for Event Industry Supplier of the Year (staffing, security and crew), for a year’s work in 2013 that saw us enjoy supporting a series of summer sporting greats. These included rolling out one of our most impressive ever pieces of training and service delivery for the UEFA Champion’s League Final, working with UEFA, Delaware North Companies (DNC) and Do & Co, to design and run an intensive, bespoke training programme in box excellence for 300 staff.
We also provided a full-spectrum staffing solution to the Patrons’ Lounges at The Open Championship at Muirfield in Edinburgh and also supported Amadeus in delivering a superb AEGON International Tennis Championship at Devonshire Park in Eastbourne, last June.
The team is proud to have been recognised as a hard-working event staffing specialist partnering with clients of all shapes and sizes, from retail, fashion, sports and media brands to catering companies, prestigious venues, hotels and corporate and private events organisers.
We’ve always believed that events can provide some of the best memories people have ever had and we make it our mission to enable those amazing experiences.
An after-party was hosted at the venue by London venue Cirque le Soir, who brought a touch of their risqué theatrics to round off the night. Click here to see the video highlights.

We have been delighted to be heavily involved with the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Our fifth annual Event School was a huge success with a number of superb courses entertaining and enlightening our delegates across two days in April.
Held at our Training Academy at the London Irish Centre, this year’s curriculum was primarily focused on developing aspiring event professionals and students in addition to our existing casual team.
Delegates enjoyed informative courses such as “Read Between the Wines”, delving into wine production techniques and how environmental factors affect the character of wines from different regions – as well as the obligatory wine tasting of course!
Our “Art of Livery Service” course provided a unique operational insight into our valuable formal hospitality heritage, providing hints and tips designed to condition our dynamic and vibrant team for more traditional service techniques.
“Behold the Butler” centred on the specific skills required to deliver seamless service in a corporate environment. The “boardroom butler” is very much in demand and our course was designed to convey the standards and expectations of high end corporate service to our budding butlers.
Master barman Josh Smith hosted two (very popular….!) cocktail workshops within which he demonstrated key cocktail making techniques, bestowing years of knowledge upon his students and ensuring that they embrace a quality driven approach with their cocktail production in the future.
Other courses on the curriculum included a superb “Modern Cooking Techniques” demonstration with Executive Head Chef Gerald Aberdeen - formally of Table Talk fame; a “Leader of the Pack” tutorial providing tips and tricks on how to motivate and instruct a small team whilst pre-empting the needs of senior management, and an enlightening, engaging, and simply brilliant lesson on “Dynamite Communication Techniques” – enabling us to efficiently present ourselves be it to an interview panel or an audience of thousands!
Keep an eye out for future course dates on the Training Academy page of our website, as well as through our social media channels and through news alerts for our wonderful casual team.
